I recently took a trip to Costa Rica. I loved the beautiful scenery including beaches, mountains, flowers, monkeys, birds, and reptiles. Costa Rica’s Southside has the Pacific Ocean and the Northeast side has the Caribbean. The Pacific side is less rainy and humid. The dry season is from December to April.
The capital of Costa Rica is San Jose with a population of about 600,000 people. The four major cities in Costa Rica have a population of 2.7 million people and have 65% of the population. San Jose has a lot of diversity with its rich metropolitan National Theater, Art Museum, National Museum, hospital, zoo, butterfly garden, universities, and city parks as well as small houses in the outskirts of town. When we got to the airport, we traded some of our US dollars for colones. At the hotel, I found I could have gotten a better rate there. Also, most places in Costa Rica take US dollars. We stayed at the Wyndham Hotel, which was close to the airport. It was a 5 star hotel with a very nice pool area, restaurants, beautiful grounds, and casino. The Hard Rock Café is across the parking lot. The food was excellent, free Wi-Fi and free calls to the US. The roads were good in the city, which did not get us ready for our tour into the countryside. Read more about day two tomorrow.
