transformed into LEGOLAND Florida, opened in October 2011.
Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom opened in 1971. With an estimated 17 million visitors in 2007, it is the most visited theme park in the world. SeaWorld was the next Orlando park to open in 1973, followed by Epcot in 1982 and Disney-MGM Studios (now called Disney's Hollywood Studios) in 1989. In 1990, Universal Studios Florida opened its doors and it would be eight years before the next park, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park opened in 1998. One year later, Universal followed suit with a new park called Islands of Adventure. Discovery Cove, offering a unique dolphin-swim experience, joined the parks scene in 2000, followed by Aquatica, SeaWorld's water park in 2008.
