Inca Rail has announced the launch and rebranding of its fleet to “The Machu Picchu Trains by Inca Rail.” Inca Rail, a rail service from Cusco to Machu Picchu, now offers four different services aboard The Machu Picchu including: The 360° Machu Picchu Train, The Private Machu Picchu Train, The First-Class Machu Picchu Train and The Voyager Machu Picchu Train. Each carriage has been designed with new features and amenities as well as panoramic windows for travelers to take in the view.
Departing from Cusco or Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley, The Machu Picchu Trains take passengers on a route alongside the Vilcanota River, past snow-capped peaks and Peruvian landscapes before entering Inca Citadel, Machu Picchu. Now, travelers can now choose from The Machu Picchu Train’s new and upgraded services as outlined below:
The 360° Machu Picchu TrainThis new train consists of six carriages and offers a stand-out observation deck with a bar and outdoor viewing platform as they ride through the Andes and otherwise inaccessible terrain. Passengers are treated to refreshments and a light meal, prepared with organic, locally sourced ingredients from the surrounding Sacred Valley. The 360° train offers a complimentary GPS activated audio guide with information on the journey, providing a deeper insight into the passing scenery including the Urubamba river valley, cloud forests, and Inca ruins.
The Private Machu Picchu TrainThe only private charter service to Machu Picchu, The Private Machu Picchu Train is available exclusively to travelers and their companions. Available for groups of up to eight passengers, the service includes a bottle of Champagne and offers a tasting menu paired with regional fine wines, as well as an open bar stocked with a selection of premium spirits. The carriage itself is decorated with generous space and colors that reflect the local Andean culture.
The First-Class Machu Picchu TrainWith 30 recliner seats in two carriages and access to an observatory lounge, passengers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding scenery on The First-Class Machu Picchu Train. The observatory lounge includes an outdoor balcony, full service bar, and live Andean music performed by local Peruvian musicians. Upon boarding the train, First Class passengers are greeted with a welcome cocktail before being shown to their seats. An Andean themed three-course tasting menu is paired with regional wines and served in guests’ seats.
The Voyager Machu Picchu TrainThe Voyager Machu Picchu Train offers large leather recliner seats, oversized windows, and a selection of refreshments in the backdrop of mountains, snow-capped peaks, and rivers on route to Machu Picchu. The largest train, The Voyager consists of 12 carriages accommodating up to 516 passengers. On The Voyager, passengers can relax and enjoy the Andean-themed instrumental music and a selection of organic beverages prepared using locally-sourced herbs and ingredients.
