Whether a dream seems large or small, it is still valid. It is still yours. But if you only dream your dream, it will never happen. Don't blame a busy schedule or any number of other things. You can make excuses, “I'll get to it later” or “I'm too old/tired for dreaming.” Maybe it's not the right time to pursue your dream, but if the dream is powerful enough, you should not let it sit in your mind, collecting dust. Use a healthy dose of courage and wisdom to follow your dreams.
When I first dreamed of writing a book, it seemed daunting and almost paralyzing. But my inner voice was persistent. I finally found a way to motivate myself and start writing. There are many ways to get motivated including having others help you get started. Writing a book is a big task so you'll need to write out the steps. Just thinking about the content is a good place to start. That's where I started. I wrote my book with the help of other travel agents. We all used our expertise to contribute to the book. We relied on each other to make our deadlines. It was quite a motivator. Then I needed help with beta readers, (people who read the book and give advice on content, flow, and meaning). I've heard that major changes can be done after beta reading. After that someone had to proof, edit, format, and help with covers . I also used Create Space. I saved a lot of money by doing print on demand. There were a lot of people involved. However, I had someone coordinate all the work. Then it didn't feel so daunting. I had Group Cruise Control Written in no time.
The best way to make your dreams come true is to plan. You can't have all your dreams come true at once, but pick the one that seems best at the time and work on it. Break down the steps and imagine the outcome. WOW, I'm dreaming of my second book. Half the work is already done. My mind is in motion. I'll let you know when it's out. It will be another travel book.
I hope your dreams come true.
